Summer 2020 UpdateOutreach Canada and COVID-19 |
August 1, 2020 Dear Friends, Things don’t seem to be improving very quickly in North America. The recent rise in infections and deaths by COVID is a cause for concern and prayer. These are unsettled days in the United States and Canada, and we see the effects of economic, political, and relational stress impacting multiple dimensions of our lives. We continue to pray. Our team is praying for the crises we see in the news, the churches that are figuring out how to move forward, the pastors who have been working overtime to adapt and who wonder what will change tomorrow, and we are praying for you, the people who support our ministry. Today I am offering a brief look at how Outreach Canada’s income has been so far this year and how it compares to other years. Monthly Income for 2017-2020![]() |
This is the first time I have shared these charts with our donors, but we want you to have a clear picture of how we are doing. The first chart shows our monthly income from all sources (individuals, churches, contracts, foundations, course registrations, etc.). You will notice that April has a pronounced spike in previous years, reflecting our annual fundraiser for missionary member care. If you are trying to add up the numbers, Our income and expenses last year were just over $2.5 Million. (for a full report on last year’s income and expenses, check out our 2020 Annual Report. Monthly Expenses for 2017-2020![]() You will see that income has been trending lower this year, but so have our expenses. We know that our current economic crisis will have an impact on your ability to support our work, especially as we look forward to the special year-end giving that we receive in December. Please join us in praying that God will continue to meet all of our needs. Our finance department has been diligent in applying for government assistance when we qualify for it. So far, since the beginning of the COVID crisis, we have received almost $69,000 through the Temporary Emergency Wage Subsidy and the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy. We are grateful for this assistance, and we have shared it among our support raising missionaries. Thank you again for supporting our ministry, our projects, and our missionaries. We are blessed to be serving the Lord at such a time as this, and we could not do it without you, our partners. In His Grip, Dr. Craig Kraft |
